Zebar School is a CBSE school in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and was founded in 2014. Located near Thaltej cross roads, it’s a co-educational English medium school and has classes from I to XII.

CHALLENGE

Zebar wanted to show their journey through a documentary film and that’s when talkingcloud came into the picture. Having worked with Riverside School in Ahmedabad, we had the expertise in making tailored content for the education industry.

We started with research on the pedagogy of Zebar and their vision for the school. After meeting the stakeholders, team talking understood how the school struggled in retention of students and teachers. We began with Ramesh’s story and then contacted the school director, Manan Choksi, who brought Udgam School’s management to Zebar. Then we sat with the teachers who were trained by Udgam’s team, the administration team, the support staff, students, and also their parents. To truly grasp the entire process, we dedicated nearly a month to thorough research. Countless conversations were held with our clients, and we eagerly absorbed the diverse perspectives shared by each stakeholder, shedding light on their unique journey.

The primary challenge for the talkingcloud team was to combine the point of view of all the stakeholders and present the script through storytelling that help the viewers in understanding the school’s journey.

Another challenge was that the shoot was scheduled during the pandemic and hence we had to figure out a way to show footage of students in classroom and the school’s day-to-day activities.

Besides the hustling bustling school shots, our team had to ideate on how to visually show the change that Udgam consultancy brought to Zebar school.

SOLUTION

Creating the script for this video was no easy task. It demanded a lot of brainstorming, writing, crossing out ideas, and making various changes until we arrived at the perfect version. The final script we crafted received instant approval from our clients because it beautifully showcased the collaborative effort that revived Zebar.

One major challenge we faced was the impact of COVID-19. While it presented both advantages and disadvantages, we made the most of the situation. Shooting scenes without students highlighted the initial struggles faced by Zebar and how Mr. Desai confronted those challenges. However, we couldn’t capture the classroom scenes with teachers and students during the pandemic. Thankfully, Zebar provided us with old footage to overcome this hurdle.

When the video was completed and presented to the client, they were ecstatic. It portrayed their journey like an inspirational documentary, combining multiple perspectives and showcasing the success brought about by an effective management system. It highlighted how the Udgam team brought in the right minds in terms of manpower and emphasized academic excellence at Zebar.

The talkingcloud team takes pride in how this documentary not only showcased Zebar’s transformative journey but also inspired change in numerous other schools. It became a medium for Zebar and Udgam to collaborate with other struggling educational institutions. The documentary was screened at various locations, attracting more parties facing similar challenges in the education sector. In fact, over 10 schools joined hands with Udgam Consultancy after witnessing the positive impact demonstrated in the documentary.
